Here at the WellBeing Centre we regularly find people accessing help because they just don't know where to go or what to do. We approached the Lottery to request their support to fund this service as the need was evident but we were not funded for this work previously. This short term project will help us provide evidence of need.

It is widely acknowledged that exercise is good for depression and for well being in general. Thanks to Sport England and Tees Valley Foundation we are now able to offer Yoga sessions for people who do not exercise because of barriers such as longterm health conditions, depression or lack of confidence. The courses will take place within the centre with a maximum of 10 people per class. The classes will be weekly for 6 weeks.

The WellBeing Recovery group is for people who are in recovery from Alcohol/Drug addiction. The group focuses on WellBeing and has been running for over a year. During this time it has been funded with thanks to the Lottery Awards For All and EDF / Tees Valley Foundation. At times where funding has not been available the WellBeing Centre has supported the group. This group creates a safe space for people to explore any challenges and learn from each other. It explores ways of moving on from a life of addiction back into living a life with new ways of coping with difficulties.

The WellBeing Recovery College consists of a programme of activites with the focus on well being. The College is based around a 6 week course which consists of increasing knowledge about self awareness.

Building Self Esteem
Developing Healthy Coping Strategies
At the end of the course you will have completed a WellBeing Plan that will help you in your daily life.
As well as the WellBeing Course the WellBeing Recovery College includes access to an;
Stress Management Clinic
Various Complementary Therapies
All giving you more natural coping strategies to benefit from. There is also access for continued support through regular Drop Ins where there will be people a place to meet people helping you to increase your support network and have access to further information. There is also direct access to FREE one to one counselling should you need it.
Stress Management Course
We have a Stress Management Course starting on various dates and runs for 6 weeks.
