Counselling.
What is Counselling?
The British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy- definition of counselling.
'Counselling takes place when a counsellor sees a client in a private and confidential setting to explore a difficulty the client is having, distress they may be experiencing or perhaps their dissatisfaction with life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose. It is always at the request of the client as no one can properly be sent for counselling'.
At times life presents us with difficulties and stresses. Where relationships break down, redundancies, bereavements or where Drugs/Alcohol become a problem counselliing can help. Sometimes it can be difficult to talk to loved ones and can be easier to someone who is not involved. Counselling can be a valuable way to help us through these times, to address issues, identify new perspectives, coping strategies & ways forward. The Well Being Centre provides counselling privately to members of the public and also with BUPA. (As part of certain BUPA packages BUPA members are entitled to up to 5 counselling sessions).
